Idli fry 



Idli is a type of rice cake made up of fermented rice, originating from the Indian subcontinent, popular as breakfast foods. Idli is the most enjoyed breakfast in the Indian households. It is extremely healthy and tasty. People usually love to have it different types of chutneys and sambar. But today we are going to see one of the most interesting way prepare idli fry. Also we are going know about its nutritional values, benefits and also about other ways to prepare it. Now, we know that there are different ways of preparing idli fry and usually take a lot of time and also a lot of oil. But here we always try to cook healthy and tasty recipes, so our recipe idli is not deep fried and preparation time is just 15 miutes.
So let’s start:

Ingredients:
  • ·        5-6 idlis
  • ·        2 tsp mustard seeds
  • ·        ½  tsp turmeric powder
  • ·        ½ tsp red chilly powder
  • ·        2 tsp sambar masala
  • ·        4-5 curry leaves
  • ·        1 tsp cumin seeds
  • ·        ¼ tsp salt

Method:
  • ·        Take our idlis and then cut each of them into 4 pieces or small sizes. Now keep them aside.
  • ·        Heat a  pan and add 2 tsp oil ,mustard seeds and cumin seeds to it.
  • ·        Now add curry leaves in the pan.
  • ·        Once the cumin seeds start to pop, add the chopped idlis to the pan.
  • ·        Mix it well, and then add sambar masala , turmeric powder and some chilly powder to the idlis.
  • ·        Saute all the mixture together and let it heat for at least 3 to 4 minutes. And we are ready!!

 Benefits of idlis:
  • ·        Idlis are very useful for weight loss because they are light and easy to digest.
  • ·        They are very low in calories because we steam them.
  • ·        Idlis are rich in protein and fibre which helps to keep our stomach full.

Nutritional content of idlis are:
  • ·        Proteins : 2 gm
  • ·        Fiber : 2 gm
  • ·        Calories : 39 gm
  • ·        Iron : 1 mili gm

Other ways to prepare healthy idlis:
  • ·        We can prepare vegetable idli by adding different vegetables like carrots, green peas, spices etc.
  • ·        We can prepare stuffed idli also. Usually, kid don’t like to eat sabji or vegetables. So, here we can add small amout of idli batter in idli mould and the add the sabji in it and then again cover the sabji by adding some more batter over it . And finally steam it.
